Richard D. Foody Download VCard

Richard D. Foody became licensed to practice law in 1988 when he graduated from the John Marshall Law School. Before and during law school, he worked as an Assistant Vice President in charge of property insurance at a major insurance brokerage firm. Rick spent 13 years in the insurance industry managing underwriting, reinsurance and brokerage departments before starting his law career. His extensive insurance background included personal and commercial lines underwriting, which encompassed property and casualty coverages. In addition to all risk property and CGL exposures, his work included inland marine, environmental impairment, professional liability and reinsurance, giving him experience and insight into insurance operations rarely found in the legal profession. This provides the firm with a distinct advantage in analyzing claims and litigation with knowledge of how the insurance industry actually operates. In his more than 20 years of legal practice he has assisted clients in virtually all lines of coverage, including drafting manuscript policies for property, general liability, professional liability, crime, D&O, and umbrella coverages. Additionally, Mr. Foody is designated as a Leading Lawyer in the state of Illinois and is an experienced trial attorney, particularly in first party property cases. He has extensive appellate experience as well.
